Steve’s spent the bank holiday weekend over in Holland, as a guest instructor on the Year Long Course with Living by Nature (thanks for having him Thijmen and team!)  They’ve been making willow fish traps, leister spears and bark pots sewn with roots they dug up by hand.  It was hot, dusty and mosquito ridden work, but they had a beautiful swim in the lake each afternoon to cool off, and Steve was in his element crafting in the woods.

We’ll be running a Paddle Carving Course over there very soon (date TBC) and you can test your paddle out on that beautiful lake!  Or there’s one over here by the seaside on 26th October, which you can book on the courses page.

Meanwhile, Kirsty and our little baby boy, Fox, were teaching 15 kids how to make bows and arrows and light fire with a flint and steel over at Pop up Campsites by the River Adur in sunny Steyning, Sussex.  It was Fox’s first Axe & Paddle Bushcraft gig, as he’s only 3 months old, but he’ll be running Spoon Carving courses before you know it! 🙂
